This provision is good
The quality of teaching is good. The children are provided with a wide range of good quality activities, both indoors and out. As a result, children are making good progress in their learning and development. Strong relationships with parents ensure they contribute to their children's assessment and the tracking of their progress. Therefore, a highly consistent approach to children's care and education is maintained. Children are very happy and settled with this kind and caring childminder. A focus on managing children's behaviour and developing their independence means children's emotional welfare is met well. The childminder has a good understanding of child protection. She is confident about the action to take to safeguard and protect children, and keep them safe. Risks are managed, and the home is safe and secure.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not always allow children time to think and talk about how they want to do things before she provides them with a solution or answer to their problem. There are fewer resources made available to support children's developing understanding and enjoyment of information and communication technology.

The inspector spoke with the childminder and children throughout the inspection. The inspector and childminder undertook a joint observation and discussed children's learning while they were engaged in the activities.

who attend. This is good
Children enjoy their learning with this engaging childminder. The childminder provides children with a broad range of interesting and exciting opportunities which play a key role in supporting and extending their overall development. The childminder has a strong focus on the prime areas of learning. She skilfully develops children's independence and concentration skills in readiness for their next steps in learning. Additionally, through early writing, number, shapes and colour work, children are being prepared for school. Children delight in playing in the sand outdoors as they learn about full and empty. They sit together to listen to the story enjoying making animal noises; and for younger children, practising their language skills. However, on occasions the childminder is too quick to provide solutions to children's ideas when they are developing their own play.

good
Children are very secure and settled with the childminder. They readily come into the home and immediately begin to play. The childminder works closely with parents to meet children's individual needs. Therefore, children's care needs and emotional welfare are met. Additionally, children's confidence and self-esteem is successfully promoted. The children play in a well-resourced and exciting home where they access good quality resources to support their play. However, the provision of resources that support children's understanding of information and communication technology is less well planned for. Outdoor provision is well planned and children move freely between the indoor and outdoor environments. Children are active and this promotes their physical well-being. They delight in burying and finding their dinosaurs, making marks and exploring the soil outdoors. The childminder provides suitable meals and helps children to become aware of

provision is good
The childminder has a good understanding of her responsibilities to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. The childminder is qualified in early years and uses this knowledge to support her planning to meet children's care and educational needs. The checking of children's progress and subsequent discussions with parents means she is able to monitor the quality of teaching, and plan for children's continued good progress. The childminder evaluates her practice and is active in seeking training to improve her already good skills. Additionally, this information is used to set targets for her continued own development.
