This means children's individual needs are met very well. The childminder demonstrates a secure understanding of safeguarding procedures to protect children from harm. She is knowledgeable of the procedures to follow for reporting any welfare issues which may raise cause for concern. The childminder works very closely with parents to get to know children and their starting points. good
Good arrangements to care for children ensure their well-being. The childminder provides a safe, happy and stimulating environment for children, where they settle quickly. Children have access to a garden area that has a variety of outdoor play equipment to promote their physical exercise. The childminder provides some healthy snacks for children and drinking water is readily available. Young children feed themselves and this promotes independence. The childminder's nurturing praise and encouragement gives children confidence, helps then feel valued, and encourages them to do well. Children regularly participate in fire drills and learn about road safety when out on walks. These experiences make a positive contribute to the way children develop a sense of danger and how to keep safe.
