who attend. This is outstanding
Children flourish at the nursery. They thoroughly enjoy their learning and achieve extremely well in relation to their starting points. The staff team creates a challenging and stimulating environment where the atmosphere is incredibly positive and encouraging. Children are very active learners. Staff enable the children to develop new skills and grow in confidence. Babies and younger children thoroughly enjoy daily messy play activities. Older children become confident in counting and naming colours and shapes, and the oldest progress to writing their own name and understanding simple mathematical concepts. However, staff do not always give children a full choice during art and craft activities to enhance their experiences further. Through the highly effective assessment and recording of children's progress, parents receive a very clear picture of where their children are in their learning.

Excellent procedures are also in place for a smooth move when nursery children start school in the Reception classes. The nursery has superb partnerships with the school of which they are an integral part. There are daily planned opportunities for pre-school children to spend time with the children and teachers in the Reception classes.
