who attend. This is good
Children make good progress in their development because of the childminder's thorough understanding of how to encourage and promote children's learning. The childminder carefully assesses where children are in their learning. She uses this information alongside their interests to plan exciting and varied activities that engage children. The childminder skilfully encourages children's chosen play experiences. For example, children participated in imaginative role play while using a toy farm and named the characters. They pretended to post letters to the farm animals and discussed how a post box is used. The childminder supports children's developing interest in books as they read together. Children demonstrate good levels of engagement and concentration. The childminder is effective at engaging with parents and involving them in their children's learning. She regularly shares information about children's achievements and values parents' positive contributions. This

good
The childminder's home is welcoming and safe. Children develop positive relationships with the childminder and flourish in her care. They benefit from regular trips to toddler groups to develop their confidence and social skills. This helps prepare children well for moves to other early years settings such as school. Children have plenty of opportunities to be active and engage in physical play, both in the garden and while on outings. The childminder responds quickly and efficiently to children's individual needs and requirements. They learn to keep safe as they practise emergency evacuations.
p.3
provision is good
The childminder works well with parents and informs them about her policies and procedures. She seeks their views and uses this information to develop her practice. Effective partnerships with other early years settings help to ensure that everyone involved with the children supports and meets their individual needs. The childminder has a secure knowledge of the learning and development requirements. She is highly reflective in her practice. The childminder attends regular training courses and undertakes research to strengthen her knowledge. This allows her to constantly develop her setting and improve the learning outcomes for children. She understands how to keep children safe and reviews risks in the environment regularly. Children are content and engage in their learning due to the childminder's efficient planning and use of a range of activities.
