who attend. This is outstanding
The childminder uses her strong knowledge of how children learn, and her expertise in teaching, to provide an outstanding range of learning opportunities. Children acquire key skills for future learning, such as communication and language skills, through high quality interactions with the childminder. The childminder asks questions to encourage children to think for themselves. She presents new resources in ways that enthuse and engage children in learning. The childminder skilfully responds to children's interests and changes activities regularly to maintain their focus. The childminder uses her expertise to make the most of learning opportunities for all children by adding to resources or adapting activities in simple, yet effective, ways. For example, as children play with a selection of different animals, the childminder adds two baskets and the play turns into a sorting activity of land animals versus sea creatures. The childminder's planning and assessment procedures are

The exceptional arrangements to care for children support their well-being. The childminder gathers comprehensive information from parents when children join. This enables her to modify her daily routines and care practices to suit children's individual needs. The childminder seeks agreement from parents regarding how to comfort children. This means that parents know that children's emotional needs are exceptionally well cared for. Children engage in play to develop their physical skills, such as cutting up different fruits as part of 'Healthy Week' and dancing to music using musical shakers. The childminder is an extremely good role model for children. She plays alongside them, helping them understand how to share and take turns. This helps children to form strong attachments and to develop their understanding of acceptable behaviour. The childminder teaches children skills and behaviour to keep themselves safe but does not always give
