p.1
This provision requires improvement. It is not yet good because:
The childminder has not ensured that all possible hazards to children in the environment and when she transports children are identified and minimised. Therefore, some aspects of children's safety and welfare are not assured. This is also a breach of the Childcare Register. The childminder does not maintain a record of complaints that she receives. Consequently, this was not available for inspection. This is also a breach of the Childcare register. The quality of teaching is variable. The childminder does not always fully encourage children to express their ideas and use their imaginations during art activities. Therefore, some areas of children's development are not supported effectively. The childminder has not evaluated her performance effectively to identify areas that need improvement. As a result, she has not ensured that she is meeting all the legal requirements.
p.1
It has the following strengths
The childminder provides a choice of healthy fruits and vegetables for children's snacks and meals. Therefore, children learn to make healthy choices which helps to promote their physical well-being. The childminder has completed relevant training to develop her knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children. She knows the procedures to follow if she has any concerns that a child is at risk of harm. The childminder shares information effectively with teachers when children move to school. This promotes continuity in their learning and development.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage the provider must:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed children and their interactions with the childminder. The inspector viewed children's developmental records. The inspector viewed a sample of the childminder's policies and procedures. The inspector carried out discussions with the childminder when appropriate. The inspector took account of the views of parents.

who attend. This requires improvement
Overall, the childminder suitably promotes children's development in most areas of their learning. However, when children chose to draw on paper, the childminder provided a template for them to draw on. This does not help children to use their ideas and imaginations to create their own pictures and art work. The childminder uses a range of resources to encourage children to develop their mathematical skills. For example, during the inspection, the children played with wooden shapes. The childminder helped them to count the sides and learn the names of shapes while the children made a rocket with the wooden shapes. The childminder uses songs to encourage children's communication and language development. For example, when the children built a rocket, the childminder sang a song about a rocket, which the children joined in with. The childminder completes the progress checks for two-year-olds and monitors children's progress with reference to

the early learning goals. This helps her to effectively identify gaps in children's learning.

requires improvement
The childminder seeks the views of parents to effectively meet the individual needs of children. Therefore, children settle easily and are emotionally secure. Children take appropriate risks to support their play and learning. For example, they use the scissors to snip paper. The childminder offers praise when they hold the scissors correctly. Therefore, children are motivated in their learning and develop confidence in their achievements. They exercise regularly during outings to the swing park, local schools and library. This promotes their physical well-being.
p.4
provision requires improvement
The childminder has not ensured that she has met all the legal requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. She does not keep a record of all complaints she receives. Therefore, complaint records are not available for Ofsted to see. This is also a breach of the Childcare Register. The childminder has risk assessment procedures including risk assessments for her car. However, she does not robustly implement these to ensure that all hazards in her home are minimised. Furthermore, she does not check that her car is suitable to transport children in. This is also a breach of the Childcare Register. The childminder has self-evaluation procedures which she has used to meet the recommendations set at her last inspection. However, these are not robustly used to monitor all aspects of her practices and legal requirements.
