who attend. This is good
The well-qualified childminder provides a stimulating range of activities to promote children's learning and development across the seven areas of learning. She is skilled in adapting them to meet needs of the differing ages in her care. As a result, all children are motivated learners and spend sustained periods of time engaged in play. For example, children enjoy creating a butterfly. Older children use scissors effectively to cut their chosen material into wing shapes. Younger children explore the glue and enjoy spreading it on their paper to make marks. The childminder naturally joins in with children's play, talking with them and supporting pronunciation of words, such as 'caterpillar' and 'chrysalis'. Younger children's babbling is responded to positively. As a result, children are developing early communication and language skills. Children make good progress in relation to their starting points and are well prepared for school. Parents are informed

The childminder forms positive relationships and has developed secure attachments with children. They enjoy her cuddles, praise and consistent reassurance. They are confident and explore the environment freely. Children settle quickly because they attend settling-in sessions when they first start, as a result, they become familiar with their new surroundings. The childminder promotes children's good health well. For example, children independently wash their hands and understand why this is important to wash away the germs. The childminder provides children with a range of healthy snacks and meals to promote a healthy diet. Children have regular opportunities to be active and engage in physical play indoors and outdoors. The childminder teaches children to keep themselves safe. For example, they learn to walk up and down steps safely and have regular discussions about road safety. Children benefit from attending toddler groups at the local
