who attend. This is outstanding
The childminder uses comprehensive processes to assess and monitor all children's learning. This ensures that she quickly identifies any learning gaps to address. The childminder oversees the planning of activities for all children as well as her key children. She ensures that all children's next steps in their learning are included in the planning of activities. Children particularly like to explore, such as using varied resources in soil outside, or investigating unusual objects indoors. This helps develop their physical skills extremely well, for example, as they scoop up the soil. The childminder develops excellent relationships with parents and this ensures they engage well. She routinely informs them about the progress their children make and encourages them to continue learning at home. This contributes towards the children's ongoing progress. However, there are slightly fewer opportunities for children to explore natural resources, for example, to help develop their sense of smell. Children confidently decide if they want to play inside or outdoors. The childminder prepares children extremely well for school. She promotes their independence as she consistently encourages them to do things for themselves. Children learn to play exceptionally well with others and manage their own care needs, such as going to the toilet. Mealtimes are very social occasions, as children eat together. They bring food from home or have nutritious meals cooked at the childminder's home. Children significantly benefit from physical play in the fresh air.
