who attend. This is outstanding

The childminder provides activities that are finely tuned to each child's needs and interests so children are curious and eager to join in. Children are highly confident explorers and often play as long as they please when they are absorbed in their own activities, making very rapid progress. Using signing and picture cards consistently, the childminder enables children at very early stages of speaking English to express themselves confidently and share their ideas with other children. She takes great care to introduce children to experiences that will overcome any difficulties in their learning, like handling wet sand to start to shape it and make marks. The childminder inspires children’s love of books from the earliest months with lively reading and well-chosen props to hold children's attention. Her expertise inspires parents with confidence, reflected in parents' comments in excellent regular reports, formal two-year-old and transition assessments. Parents use the home

diaries and daily feedback times to ask advice about potty training, sleep and diet so that children’s care is uninterrupted and meets their needs.

outstanding

Excellent systems are in place to keep children safe. The childminder draws on a wealth of experience and training to seek additional support for children when the need arises. Parents work closely with the childminder to strengthen her knowledge of how well children are doing. Children become secure and attached to their childminder who takes great care to listen to children and become familiar with their ways of learning. Excellent short routines help children feel confident in their own abilities so that children's social skills develop to a greater level than is typical for their age. Children quickly pick up routines to tidy up after themselves, start to take turns and help each other, for example, by thoughtfully passing tissues to wipe runny noses. Excellent preparation for children to go on to nursery school around the age of three years is supported by the childminder's very detailed transition reports. These show their confident abilities.

p.3

provision is outstanding

The childminder has a highly developed understanding of the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. She is especially skilled at putting a thoroughly tailored experience in place for the rapid development of the youngest babies through to three- year-olds. With her co-childminder, she is very careful to make sure the premises are safe and secure for children to play freely. They ensure assistants are highly skilled and suitable to work with the children. Parents views are important to the childminder's view of her own work. Her expertise in meeting children's individual needs inspires her co- workers. They evaluated each other's work rigorously when working as a team to make sure daily routines and activities are right for the children. They continually spur each other on with ambitious plans to take their studies further, to improve their own ways of working and promote children's development.
