for children. It also providing continuous practice development opportunities for the staff caring for them.
p.3
This inspection
Progress for children is evident; for some this has been in a very short space of time and for others from a very difficult starting point. The number of incidents, including the need to use physical interventions, has significantly reduced. Presenting behavioural issues which put children at significant risk have all but stopped. In response to the potential for a child to go missing the staff were ready to follow and avoid the child being able to escape their supervision. This not only kept the child safe but gave a clear and important message to them about their value and worth. The carefully considered and planned care provided, and attention to individual need constantly reinforces these messages to children.
p.3
This inspection
Children quickly trust to the staff to act in their best interests, and this contributes to them developing self- esteem and confidence. The staff can then influence the children’s behaviour and help them to interpret their feelings and responses to anxiety in a more productive way. A social worker commented ‘the child is doing fantastically well and has made massive progress, I can’t fault them, and they are doing wonders’. 4 of 5
