This provision is good
The childminder uses purposeful teaching techniques. Her thoughtful planning means that she offers children a creative variety of play experiences. She interacts well with children and supports them, so that they make good progress in their learning. The childminder plans activities and resources that relate to children's interests. These capture children's attention and they are motivated and positive. This prepares them well for school and their future learning. The childminder maintains good partnerships with parents as she shares information about children's learning and development. This means that parents are kept well informed about their children's progress and how their learning can be extended further. The childminder liaises effectively with other childcare providers, including local schools. This promotes continuity in children's learning as information is shared about planned topics.

who attend. This is good
The childminder provides a range of high-quality learning opportunities and skilfully extends children's learning. Children are eager to learn and they develop skills needed for the next stage in their learning. The quality of teaching is good, sometimes outstanding, and all children are fully included. The childminder provides stimulating activities that build on children's interests and children also initiate many activities themselves. For example, children are encouraged to make their own shaped biscuits using the gingerbread dough. The childminder supports children's communication skills by listening to what children have to say and responding to develop the conversation. The childminder models simple vocabulary for younger children to copy, and asks more complex questions to older children to ascertain their thoughts and opinions. As a result, children are making good progress in their communication and language skills. Children count confidently and use

good
The childminder gathers clear information, so that she fully understands each child and consistently meets their needs. This helps them to feel secure and they quickly build warm, trusting relationships with the childminder. The childminder is a good role model and demonstrates great care and respect for all. She meets children's individual dietary needs, by providing healthy snacks. The childminder provides a stimulating environment, which includes colourful displays that celebrate children's own independent work. Children have opportunities to be active and engage in physical play, both in the garden and on outings to other play areas. However, the childminder has yet to provide a range of resources for babies and younger, less mobile children, to access the outdoor area to further promote their physical development.
p.3
provision is good
The childminder has a secure knowledge of the learning and development requirements and how to keep children safe. She is aware of the procedures to follow, should she have concerns about a child, or an allegation is made against herself or her assistant. The childminder creates a safe environment by reviewing risks regularly. She works effectively with her assistant as they have regular meetings to discuss children and their individual needs. The childminder aspires to offer an outstanding provision and constantly reviews and reflects upon her practice and the environment. The childminder attends relevant training courses and shares good practice with other childminders in order to maintain and improve standards. She keeps a close check on how children are progressing and shares this with parents and with other providers. Effective systems for planning and assessment provide children with good quality care and learning opportunities.
