This provision is good
Children settle well in the childminder's care. They build strong attachments to their key persons and other adults in the setting. This ensures that they feel safe and secure. The childminder assesses children's development and monitors their learning to ensure they make consistent progress. Children make good progress in their communication and language development because the childminder engages them in conversation and encourages them to participate in discussions about their activities at home. Children spend time outdoors in the fresh air and this promotes their good health. The childminder provides a healthy and nutritious diet for children and they learn good hygiene skills. The childminder fully understands her responsibilities to safeguard children in her care. She ensures that all adults in the setting are fully aware of the procedures to follow should they have a concern. The childminder is well qualified and seeks regular training courses to keep her

who attend. This is good
The childminder provides a good range of activities and experiences to promote children's learning and development. Young children are free to explore and develop their imagination during role play, by using a variety of resources. For example, children rolled and shaped dough as they played together indoors. They extended their own play by taking pots and pans from the play kitchen and pretending to cook. The childminder's assistant skilfully extended the activity further by cutting the dough into strips to represent pasta. The childminder provides an extensive variety of resources indoors and outdoors. However, resources to promote children's experiences of technology are less well provided. The childminder tells stories to children from memory and they share books together. She teaches them to recognise letters and numbers, colours and shapes. These activities ensure that children are well prepared for the next stage in their learning and

good
The childminder ensures that her setting is safe and welcoming. Children are familiar with exploring their environment and know where to find their favourite toys. The childminder helps children to become independent by teaching them how to wash their hands, put on their coats and shoes, and tidy away their play items. She provides appropriate facilities for children to rest or sleep and keeps them under close supervision to ensure they remain safe. Children thoroughly enjoy the activities in the childminder's garden that cover all the areas of learning. However, some resources, such as painting equipment, sometimes run out and this prevents children from easily accessing the activities of their choice. Children learn to share and take turns with others and behave well. The childminder sets secure boundaries that help children feel safe and effectively promote positive behaviour.

provision is good
The childminder has a secure understanding of the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. She builds strong and effective relationships with parents to ensure continuity in children's learning and development. She regularly exchanges information with parents and shares records of children's progress. The childminder ensures that her premises are safe and secure for children to explore. She assesses any risks in her environment and on outings to ensure that hazards are minimised and children stay safe. The childminder ensures that the premises remain secure by situating cameras around the building. She evaluates her provision well and has clear plans for driving improvements. She monitors the practice of her assistants through supervision and seeks regular training opportunities so that they keep up to date with their skills and knowledge.
