p.1

This provision is good

 The childminder has effective settling-in procedures. She makes sure children and their parents are reassured during this process. Parents provide positive feedback and are very happy with the support provided.  The childminder has clear systems to track and plan for children's progress. She makes sure the progress checks for two-year-old children are done in time, in partnership with parents.  The childminder organises a range of well-planned activities for children which helps them to make a good progress in their learning.  The childminder demonstrates a commitment to ongoing improvement and reflects on her practice to improve the quality of care provided.  The childminder's home is welcoming and safe. She makes sure it is suitable and safe for children through regular checks.  The childminder provides freshly cooked meals and makes sure children follow good hygiene routines to promote their well-being.

p.1

It is not yet outstanding because:

 The childminder does not always invite parents and children to give their suggestions about ways to enrich children's learning experiences.  The childminder does not always makes good use of babies' daily routines because she makes them wait for too long at times, without keeping them occupied.

who attend. This is good

The childminder provides good support for all children in their activities. She stays close to babies, so they feel secure. As a result, babies respond positively to the childminder's close attention and communicate happily, so develop good early communication skills. The childminder introduces new words and helps children with their pronunciation. She also praises their attempts, which boosts their confidence. Children develop their communication and language skills very well because the childminder asks effective questions and challenges children to think for themselves. The childminder prepares older children for the move to school very well. Children are able to recognise and write letters, and they count independently. Regular exchanges of information about children's achievements and parents' cooperation, ensure children's learning is supported at home. However, the childminder does not fully encourage parents to offer their ideas for

enhancing children's learning experiences further.

good

Children enjoy positive relationships with the childminder. They enjoy cuddles, praise and consistent reassurance. However, occasionally, she does not keep them occupied, for example, while they wait for their food, so they become less settled. Children behave very well, use their manners and are nice to each other. This is because the childminder is a good role model and encourages children to be polite and respect each other's needs. The childminder teaches children about different cultures, abilities and beliefs. They take part in festivals and activities, such as Diwali and Christmas, organised in local playgroups. Consequently, children learn to respect each other's differences and socialise in larger groups. These experiences also help them get ready for the move to nursery or school. Children enjoy trips to the park to find out about bugs and insects, or to collect leaves for future creative activities.

p.3

provision is good

The childminder has addressed the actions set at her previous inspection well and meets requirements well. She has also completed childcare qualification at level 3. This achievement has helped her to gain a better knowledge and understanding of how to promote effective outcomes for children. As a result, the childminder provides better experiences for children to meet their learning and developmental needs. The childminder has secure knowledge and understanding of her responsibilities of keeping children safe. She has safeguarding systems in place to promote children's welfare and knows how to report any concerns. The childminder maintains effective systems for monitoring children's progress. Consequently, children make good progress while in her care.
