This home was judged good at the last full inspection. At this interim inspection Ofsted judge that it has sustained effectiveness .

p.2

This inspection

Young people have continued to develop and enjoy living in a homely environment with experienced, well trained and consistent staff. A social worker reported within one of the homes' questionnaires that, 'the staff are working very hard and I'm happy with the improvements that (the young person) has made since moving into the home.'

p.2

This inspection

Staff consistently support educational provisions, promoting the success that a good academic and practical background brings. Young people attend education regularly, with successes within college and school placements. Young people enjoy after school clubs including art, homework support and a debating club.

p.2

This inspection

Young people's health is well supported and staff continue to ensure health professionals are involved to improve positive outcomes. This allows both young people's physical and mental well-being to be responded to. An excellent sign has been created by a young person within the bathroom to support best washing practices.

p.2

This inspection

Staff meet with young people on a regular basis to support their development at the home. Good records show that work is completed regarding a range of areas, from resolution of relationships with their peers, to developing a C.V and examination of voluntary work placements. Weekly young people's meetings are held, showing the staff listening to young people's views and responding to requests for menus, activities and possible changes to the décor. Young people are aware of how to raise concerns about the home and the care provided, through complaints discussions and information about external independent parties within the young people's guide and on the home's notice board.

p.2

This inspection

Safeguarding systems within the home are appropriate. When concerning incidents 3 of 5 occur they are recorded fully and passed on to the necessary organisations swiftly. The Registered Manager attends all meetings with safeguarding teams when required. Notification records show how the home has responded to safeguarding concerns and how these have then effected practices within the home. This has included working with the young people, updating risk assessments and developing staffs' awareness of responding to young people's needs.

p.2

This inspection

Since the last inspection there has been a decrease in the number of incidents of young people going missing from the home. This is due to some creative work that has been done by the staff team to respond to young people's interests away from the home, decreasing concerns of sexual exploitation and their welfare.

p.3

This inspection

There were no recommendations or requirements made at the last inspection. The staff and management team have a development plan in place to further enhance the level of care that is being provided. The home is monitored by an external party on a monthly basis and action points from these visits are responded to by the next visit.

p.3

This inspection

The home does not currently have a registered manager, due to them leaving in the week prior to the inspection. Interim arrangements are in place and seniors within the home are both experienced and sufficiently qualified to respond to the current young people's needs. The previous manager showed a high awareness of the home and issues within it. Her own quarterly assessment of the home being completed regularly and forwarded on to Ofsted. This includes an examination of trends in behaviour management, absences and safeguarding concerns. The assessments further inform how the home could move forwards. 4 of 5
