This provision is good
The childminder carefully plans and organises a safe, interesting, vibrant and stimulating learning environment that meets children's needs. The childminder plans and provides an exciting range of challenging activities and resources that engage and motivate children. As a result, children make good progress in all areas of learning. The childminder and her assistants work effectively as a team. They are caring, kind and friendly. This fosters in children a strong sense of belonging and security. There is a good two-way exchange of information with parents that contributes to children's learning and well-being. They work effectively together to meet children's individual needs at home and in the setting. The childminder and her assistants monitor and evaluate their practices effectively. They identify and address areas for development successfully, so that the quality of care and learning continues to improve.

who attend. This is good
The childminder works effectively with parents to help children settle. She also works closely with other early years providers involved with children, to promote consistency in their care and learning. The childminder observes, assesses and monitors children's progress competently. With her assistants, she extends children's learning and thinking skilfully. At the inspection, they reinforced children's communication and mathematical skills by asking questions as they played with the dough and made different shapes. The adults encouraged children to think about what they were doing and express their ideas. Children made choices, and initiated their own play confidently and independently. They investigated the magnetic vehicles with an adult nearby to offer support and guidance when needed. Children develop a love of books as they sit and listen to stories, joining in with the refrains. They develop well in the skills they need to secure future learning.
p.3
good
The childminder and her assistants form strong emotional bonds with children. They respect and celebrate children's home backgrounds and languages in the setting. At the inspection, children eagerly joined in with activities and played well together. They showed good social skills as they happily shared resources and took turns. Children develop good physical skills in the sensory area. They clambered over the large soft-play shapes and had fun in the ball pool. The childminder provides healthy meals and plenty of exercise in the exciting outdoor area. This promotes children's good health. Overall, adults teach children good personal hygiene practices but do not always do this at every opportunity. For example, when adults give resources to children waiting for snacks, this lessens the effectiveness of hand washing.
p.3
provision is good
The childminder has a good understanding of the safeguarding and welfare requirements. She makes sure that her assistants are fully aware of their roles and know how to safeguard children. The childminder has robust procedures for dealing with any child protection concerns. The childminder and her main assistant regularly attend training that helps increase their knowledge and skills. For example, a recent course gave them a fuller understanding of how to support children who learn in different ways. The childminder actively seeks feedback from parents. She has made good use of recent suggestions from them to help improve safety in the home and garden.
