who attend. This is outstanding

Children's learning and development is supported extremely well as the inspirational childminder has an excellent understanding of how they learn. She is fully aware of the children's individual needs and interests. For example, following a recent visit to the doctor, the childminder extends children's learning during role-play. She asks questions about what has happened to their toy animal. This helps children to develop their communication and thinking skills and prepares them very well for when they go to school. The childminder skilfully engages in children's play by pretending to be the doctor. Children are excited as they measure and fit bandages to make their toy animals better. This helps children to learn about mathematics and provides rich opportunities to explore their imaginative ideas. Children's experiences are enhanced on exciting trips to the zoo, park, groups and museums.

p.3

outstanding

The childminder shares extremely strong and trusting relationships with children. This results in children being very happy and confident in her care. She emotionally prepares them for changes in their lives. For example, she reads stories about the arrival of a new baby. The childminder use every opportunity for children to develop their self-help skills. For example, the childminder provides a small jug at lunchtime which enables even the youngest children to be able to pour their own water. Children develop very healthy lifestyles as they frequently participate in physical play. They have an excellent understanding of the importance of good hygiene. For example, they know why they need to wash their hands before eating.

p.3

provision is outstanding

The dedicated and professional childminder evaluates her service exceedingly well. She is strongly committed to continually improving. She has fully addressed the action and recommendation from her last inspection, greatly improving outcomes for children. She has now attended a variety of courses and is studying for an early years qualification at level 3. This training is beginning to improve her service further. For example, she now very effectively monitors children's development. The childminder has links with local schools and knows where to seek support from other professionals if required, to respond to children's individual needs.
