p.1
This provision is good
The childminder is highly motivated and committed to providing high quality care and learning for children. There are very effective systems in place for monitoring and self- evaluation so that children's learning is continually improving. She also ensures that she supports her assistant through regular informal and formal supervision, as well as access to relevant training. The childminder has a secure understanding of the learning and development requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. She attends regular training to develop her skills and further improve learning outcomes for children. As a result, children make good progress in their learning and development. The childminder successfully monitors children's progress by undertaking detailed observations, which she then assesses to ensure children have continuous activities that are stimulating. This supports individual learning in readiness for children's next

stage in learning, such as nursery and school. The childminder has established strong relationships with the children. The childminder uses robust policies and procedures for safeguarding children. She ensures that her secure understanding of child protection issues, robust risk assessments and vigilant supervision keep all children safe from harm.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
At times, the childminder does not fully gather information from parents when their children first start, to enable planning of sharply focused activities. Furthermore, there is scope to support children's ongoing learning through regular information gained from home.

Inspection activities
The inspector carried out a joint observation with the childminder. The inspector observed the children playing indoors and outdoors. The inspector sampled paperwork including policies, risk assessments and suitability documents. The inspector sought the views of parents from questionnaire comments, referral letters and comments made in children's files. The inspector discussed the provision with the childminder at appropriate times during the inspection.

who attend. This is good
The childminder teaches with experience and a good knowledge of how children learn. Children respond to sensory activities with excitement. For example, they learn to press, squeeze and mould play dough. The childminder is quick to add mathematical learning as she teaches about size, shape and numbers. Children learn to work together and this fosters their personal, social and emotional development. The childminder engages children in conversations and encourages them to select books to look at. This actively supports their literacy learning and this continues outside when they mark make on chalkboards. The childminder is skilled at varying and adapting her support to promote independence. She knows the children's abilities well and this means that achievable learning happens for all children. The childminder works closely with parents. She collects evidence about children's interests. However, at times, she does not always gather

detailed information about children's learning when they first start, and on an ongoing basis to enhance planning for their development.

good
The childminder's warm interaction builds confidence, self-assurance and children's emotional well-being. Established routines help to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. For example, children enjoy sociable snack times. Food is nutritious and well balanced, and takes account of any specific dietary requirements. Furthermore, the childminder ensures children have plenty of opportunities to enjoy daily fresh air and exercise. Children enjoy regular trips to visit places of interest, such as local parks and groups. This helps them learn how to behave in different social situations. These experiences teach children how to behave outside of the setting and prepare children well for future learning.
p.3
provision is good
The childminder is organised and experienced, and this reflects in the well-maintained provision. Written documentation provides a clear picture of the childminder's practice. This information is readily available for parents to share. As a result, they are aware of the childminder's responsibilities in promoting children's health, safety and well-being. The childminder has a proactive outlook to improving her provision. She identifies areas for improvement and uses questionnaires with parents to gauge their views. Personal development plans show her commitment to influencing children's experiences, to ensure they reach their potential. She has also effectively addressed previous inspection recommendations. Partnerships with parents and services that support special educational needs and English as an additional language are strong. This gives the childminder ideal support to maintain a fully inclusive approach to her provision.
