p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder is unclear about how to promote children's understanding and acceptance of others, to help them develop respect for others and the environment.  The childminder has a weak knowledge of the learning and development requirements. She does not gather information to assess children's development. Consequently, she fails to plan interesting activities to help children make good progress.  Toys are limited and are not easy for children to reach to enable them to make choices. The childminder does not understand the importance of ensuring toys and resources provide challenge and engage children's interests.  The childminder informs parents about their child's day and provides flexible care to meet families' needs.  The childminder has improved her understanding of child protection and complaints procedures. However, she has not improved her knowledge of the learning and development requirements, and shows a limited capacity to improve.
