This provision is good
The childminder organises a wide range of fun and stimulating activities for children. As a result, children are excited and motivated by the learning opportunities and make good progress in their learning and development. Children enjoy many opportunities to expand their imaginations and develop physically and emotionally in the childminder's garden, which provides a rich learning environment. The highly effective key-person system enables children to form very secure attachments with the childminder and her co-childminder. The childminder teaches children why it is important to share with their friends. As a result, children play cooperatively together and form firm friendships with each other. The childminder provides an enabling environment in which children develop high levels of confidence and independence. their children feel safe, secure and at home. The childminder welcomes ongoing training opportunities and prioritises continuous professional development. Priorities for the future include further improvements to the assessment and planning systems.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder is not always successful in engaging key persons at the other settings that children attend, to share information. This reduces opportunities for promoting a shared approach to children's learning.
p.1
What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

strengthen opportunities to engage with children's key persons at the other early years settings they attend, to fully share observations of children's development and further promote their learning.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed children in their play and their interactions with the childminder. The inspector read and took into account the childminder's self-evaluation record. The inspector spoke to the children, the childminder, her co-childminder and her assistant. The inspector sampled the childminder's documentation and her planning for children's progress.

who attend. This is good
The quality of teaching is good because the childminder has a secure knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. Children are highly motivated. They fully engage in a good balance of child-initiated and adult-led play experiences. The childminder shares the required progress check for children aged two years with their parents, to involve them in their children's milestones. The childminder has developed some links with local schools and pre-schools. However, she has not fully developed these partnerships in order to gain information and consistently promote children's learning. The childminder is skilled at extending children's play and engages children in conversations. Therefore, she encourages them to think critically and develop their language skills. All children, including those who are bilingual, are experiencing an environment rich in language. They have fun singing along to the guitar and playing the piano. The songs and

rhythms help children to learn the similarities between words and develop vocabulary.

outstanding
The childminder provides an exceptionally warm and nurturing environment where children's well-being is of high priority. Children benefit enormously from the key-person system which contributes significantly towards children's feelings of security and well- being. Children flourish because the childminder recognises the uniqueness of each child. She shares information about each child's progress with her co-childminder on a weekly basis. Children's behaviour is exemplary. They know what is expected of them and respond extremely well. The childminder teaches children to develop the skills that they need for school. These abilities include dressing themselves, using the toilet independently and developing appropriate hygiene practices. Children enjoy exceptionally healthy and nutritious meals that the childminder plans to take account of their specific dietary requirements. Children eagerly discuss which foods are their favourites. They really look

forward to what they are having for lunch as they help to set the table with pleasure.
p.3
provision is good
The childminder works extremely well with her co-childminder and assistant. Together, they identify where further improvements can be made to benefit the children. The childminder's processes for self-evaluation also take into account the views and suggestions of children and parents. Actions set at the last inspection have been met. The childminder understands the procedures to follow to safeguard children and how to report concerns about their welfare. Detailed risk assessments and routine safety checks of the home and garden also contribute significantly towards children's safety. The childminder engages with parents extremely well in order to provide consistency for children.
