who attend. This is outstanding

The childminder has an exceptional knowledge and understanding of children's individual needs and progress, and how to promote their learning and development. This is because she constantly involves parents and uses every opportunity to ask children questions that successfully capture their interest and extend their learning. As a result, children make outstanding progress in relation to their developmental starting points and gain the skills they need for their future learning. The childminder skilfully develops children's communication skills due to her exceptionally animated interaction and communication during their play. The childminder provides children with an exceptionally wide range of activities and outings that help them understand the world. For example, she takes them to farms where they bottle feed lambs, stroke horses and explore resources in a barn.

p.3

outstanding

The childminder and her assistants form close and caring relationships with children. Children are extremely happy and settled. This is evident as they confidently sing to themselves during routine care events. The childminder focuses on promoting children's ability to share, 'look out for each other' and be polite. As a result, children are exceptionally well behaved. Children are provided with an extremely welcoming, spacious and well-resourced purpose built outdoor play cabin. As a result, they are very independent and motivated in their play. The garden is used well, although during the winter months it is less well resourced, which reduces the opportunities for children to practice what they have previously learnt.

p.3

provision is outstanding

The childminder has an excellent knowledge and understanding of how to safeguard children's welfare and respond to any concerns. Children's safety is exceptionally well maintained. The childminder works very effectively with her assistants and supervises their practice. They work together to supervise children as they use different areas of the premises and garden. As a result of their excellent teamwork, children's play is not disrupted. Since the last inspection, she has completed a level 3 childcare qualification. This has significantly strengthened her ability to evaluate the provision and drive improvement. It inspired her to build the dedicated play cabin in the garden, which has transformed children's play and given them much more freedom and choice during their play. The childminder vigilantly tracks and monitors activities and children's progress to ensure they reach expected levels of development. She establishes excellent partnership
