This inspection: Not met

Previous inspection: Satisfactory 3 The setting does not meet legal requirements for early years settings

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder does not consistently identify priorities for improvement. For example, she has not addressed all the recommendations raised at her previous inspection. As a result, she has not improved her understanding of how to support children's learning and she is not meeting a number of legal requirements of the Early Years Register.  The childminder has little understanding of the learning and development requirements. For example, she does not have the skills to plan a wide range of challenging experiences for children, or to apply a good range of teaching strategies that consider the different ways children learn. This has an impact on her ability to promote children's learning across each of the seven areas of learning.  The childminder has a poor understanding of how to monitor children's ongoing progress and the requirement to undertake a progress check for children aged between two and three years. This limits her ability to tailor each child's learning to meet their

individual needs.  The childminder has improved her knowledge of child protection and of completing thorough risk assessments of the premises. Both of which were raised at her previous inspection. Consequently, she has improved her understanding of how to keep children safe from harm.  The childminder has an adequate understanding of the advantages of working in partnership with parents and others. For example, she is aware of what information is needed in order to meet children's individual care needs and support them while they are settling-in.  The childminder has an adequate understanding of how to support children's health and safety. For example, she understands the importance of maintaining a clean environment, of providing healthy snacks and drinks, and by teaching children the skills they need to keep themselves safe.

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
