There has been sustained and consistent improvement in the functioning of this home since the last inspection. Young people are thriving and are making considerable progress. They benefit from living in a calm, warm and friendly environment supported by a consistent and nurturing staff team. A young person stated, 'At this home staff really care’.
p.2
This inspection
Young people have exceptional attendance and achievement at school. Some are highly aspirational about their future. Others have made significant progress in relation to managing their behaviour, their health has improved and their general demeanour is happier and more settled. Young people do not engage in risk-taking behaviour and rarely go missing from the home. They have built up trust-time with staff and now enjoy free time to spend with their friends. There have been significant improvements in young people's contact with family members and some have been able to have overnight contact with relatives for the first time, enabling young people to build better relationships with people significant to them.
p.2
This inspection
Young people benefit from the clear guidance and boundaries provided by a more stable and consistent staff team. There is positive placement matching within the home and young people enjoy living with each other.
p.2
This inspection
At the last inspection, three requirements and four recommendations were made. All requirements and recommendations have been met demonstrating the home's capacity for sustained improvement. There is regular monitoring of the functioning of the home by the management team. Reports produced and submitted to Ofsted are now more comprehensive and accurately reflect the functioning of the home ensuring the regulator has a clear overview of the home. 3 of 5 Young people's health is now regularly monitored by staff in conjunction with health care providers. This has ensured young people receive appropriate health care where necessary. Since the last inspection, young people have discussed their own health needs directly with medical practitioners, for example, discussing changes in medication. This demonstrates how young people are taking greater responsibly for their own health care. Internal doors, such as the lounge door, are no longer locked

This inspection
Two shortfalls were identified at this inspection. Young people benefit from access to a car and this is used to transport them to school, the shops and for other excursions. Staff conduct weekly checks to ensure the vehicle is safe and road worthy. However, a health and safety hazard relating to the car was identified by the inspector during the inspection. The car was immediately taken out of service and an alternative method of transportation sourced.

This inspection
