early years provision

This inspection: Not Met Previous inspection: Not Applicable

p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder lacks a secure knowledge of the learning and development requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This means she does not understand how to plan activities that cover all areas of learning to support each child to progress fully in their learning.  The childminder is not aware of how to complete the required progress check for two- year-old children.  The childminder does not have an up-to-date paediatric first-aid qualification and therefore does not meet the requirements of registration. This does not support children's well-being in the event of an accident and is a breach of the requirements of the Early Years Register and the Childcare Register.  The childminder demonstrates a suitable knowledge of the signs of abuse and neglect and how to safeguard children. However, she is not fully familiar with the local safeguarding procedures to follow in the event of concerns arising about children's

welfare. In addition, she does not have a written safeguarding procedure, which is a breach of the Childcare Register requirements.  The childminder demonstrates an appropriate knowledge of how to support children to develop healthy lifestyles. For example, through providing a healthy, balanced diet that meets children's individual requirements and daily access to fresh air and exercise.
