Young people are safe at the home. Procedures and training continue to ensure that young people are protected and well cared for. Sanctions are fair and proportionate. Where physical intervention is used, this is a last resort. The number of physical interventions have reduced for some young people since the last inspection. There are no reports of young people going missing. The Registered Manager and staff are vigilant about young people's safety in the community and within the home.

The home has undergone refurbishment and redecoration. The process of improving and maintaining the environment is ongoing and is reflected in the home's development plan. Each young person decorates their room according to personal preference. This ensures that young people know that they are listened to and their wishes acted upon.

p.3

This inspection

Consultation with young people is part of a process of continuous improvement. Young people's meetings take place weekly. Young people attend and sign the minutes of the meetings and where they have raised issues these are discussed in key worker sessions between young people and staff. This informs young people's understanding that their wishes are taken seriously by staff and acted upon wherever possible. A young people's participation plan is in place and young people were recently involved with staff recruitment for the home.

p.3

This inspection

The Registered Manager is a positive and stable influence in the home and continues to effectively lead and monitor the practice.
