Since the inspection, you informed the inspector that you improved the risk assessment so that you can identify there are no hazards in the home. In addition, you have made improvements to your hygiene practices, particularly in regards to nappy changing. As a result, this helps to ensure children's safety and prevent cross infection. However, the inspector noticed there were some small items of toys accessible to younger children and you agreed these would be removed immediately to prevent any choking incidents.

Outcome of monitoring
You informed the inspector that you have reviewed how you ensure that challenging and enjoyable experiences are provided for all children. You have achieved this by looking at how you store toys and making sure a sufficient range of resources are accessible. For example, you make sure that a range of age appropriate books are stored in a box on the carpet and this enables young children to explore these and choose to look at books. The local authority advisor has also provided you with ideas for making use of natural materials and guided you to groups in the neighbourhood where children can experience messy play, together with being in a social environment. The local authority advisor also confirmed she would send you further ideas of activities to help in planning first-hand learning experiences.

You expressed how completing observations and building up a learning record has helped you to recognise more clearly where the children's development is at, and how you can plan activities to help them progress.
p.2
Outcome of monitoring
You confirmed you had taken action to ensure a record of children's attendance is maintained. The inspector looked at your attendance record and this confirms you are accurately recording the children's times of arrival and departure.
