p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder has a weak knowledge of the learning and development requirements. She has not considered how to assess whether children are making progress from their starting points across the seven areas of learning. The childminder is not aware of the need to produce progress checks for two-year-olds.  The childminder does not have a valid paediatric first aid certificate.  The childminder has an insufficient understanding of safeguarding and of the child protection procedures approved by the Local Safeguarding Children Board, including the process if allegations are made against her or household members. Additionally she is not sure about the procedures to follow should a complaint be made against her.  The childminder has a good awareness of providing healthy and balanced meals, and encouraging outdoor play. However, she has not fully considered how she will keep children safe in the home, particularly when using the garden.
