p.1

Monitoring for provision judged as satisfactory

An Ofsted inspector, Catherine Greene, monitored your provision on 25/06/2014 following your inspection where the provision was judged to be satisfactory.

p.1

Outcome of monitoring

As a result of our inspection on 27/03/2014, we sent you a notice to improve. If you were set actions at the inspection, or as a result of our subsequent monitoring or investigations, these are included at the end of this letter unless we have already verified that they have been completed.

p.1

Outcome of monitoring

During the monitoring visit the inspector discussed with you the steps you have taken to address the actions raised in the notice to improve. The inspector reviewed your attendance record, learning profiles and risk assessment systems. She observed your interaction with the children and discussed your behaviour management methods. She also observed the safety of the premises and garden and looked at the self-evaluation process.

p.1

Outcome of monitoring

The inspector found that you have developed a clear action plan to address the issues raised at your last inspection and that you have quickly implemented these plans.

p.1

Outcome of monitoring

You have actively welcomed support from your local authority early years coordinator to identify those areas that require further development. You have attended training and booked for additional courses in order to support your practice. You have devised a new system to inform your self-evaluation, and learning and development assessment processes. As a result, you have accurately identified in your action plan what needs to improve and you demonstrated that you know how to maintain these improvements. In addition, you have devised a new system to seek information from parents and key persons at other settings children attend to inform children's development records. This includes information about children's likes, achievements and where they may need additional support. This detail helps you to have greater knowledge about children's well being and specific needs.

p.1

Outcome of monitoring

You state that your assistant is in the process of completing the required suitability process with Ofsted. You have reviewed your risk assessments to ensure that areas of your home and garden including the pond and fencing are safe. You have followed these risk assessments to ensure that the garden and equipment are suitable for children. You have reviewed your attendance register so that you are now recording children's attendance more accurately. These processes contribute to ensuring children are safe in your care.

p.1

Outcome of monitoring

You have shown a positive approach to all the changes required and have worked effectively on all of the actions raised as part of your last inspection. Having considered all the evidence, the inspector is of the opinion that at this time you have taken prompt and effective action to address the points for improvement.

p.2
