Outcome of monitoring
An unannounced monitoring visit was carried out on the Wednesday 07 May 2014. The inspector discussed with the provider the steps that have been taken to address the action raised in the notice to improve. The inspector observed that the outdoor area had been carefully considered and the provider had made several improvements. For example, the surface provides different textures and experiences for young babies. The environment is inviting and stimulating offering accessible activities which support the development of young children’s senses, mobility and developing communication.
p.2
Outcome of monitoring
The manager identified that this is an ongoing project where further development of the outdoor area is in progress. The children are protected in sun and rain by a large canopy which creates an intimate and safe environment for both practitioner and baby. The inspector observed and discussed with practitioners the risk assessment that has been implemented throughout the setting. Practitioners commented that it is informative document that records any potential hazards identified and the action taken to rectify. The provider has employed an additional member of staff who once a week will remove any growing weeds and mend any breakages within the setting. Following the visit on 07 May 2014 and considering all evidence gathered at the visit, the inspector is of the opinion that the notice to improve has been met.
