p.3

Progress

Since their previous inspection the service is judged to be making good progress .

p.3

Progress

The home was judged as good at the last full inspection in August 2013. Two areas of improvement were identified as a result of that visit: to ensure the routine of the home is organised so as to further young people’s participation in education including regular attendance at school and to ensure each young person has access to dental advice and treatment and other services. The home has made good progress in meeting the recommendations. The home provides stability for both of the young people who live there and they both speak positively about the home. One young person is making good progress, attends college and has a comprehensive plan in place to increase her independence skills. The other young person is making progress in attending school and having her health needs met. They both contribute their views to the running of the home in a variety of ways. This impacts positively on the service that they receive.

p.3

Progress

Young people continue to benefit from living in a home where there is effective and efficient management and organisation of it’s daily operation. Monitoring and quality assurance processes are well established to support the development of the home. The Registered Manager is aware of the detail of the home on a day to day basis which enables him to promote quality care. He continually gathers evidence from a wide range of sources to determine the quality of care being provided. This includes information from the young people about their experiences of each staff team member. Formal monitoring visits continue to be conducted monthly. Actions identified from these visits are addressed promptly which improves the quality of the provision.

p.3

Progress

The staff team continue to benefit from a comprehensive induction and training programme. Staff training records are complete. Staff have regular key working sessions with young people that promote the development of the young person. Staff are very positive about the home and the progress made by the young people.

p.4

Progress

The health and well-being of the young people is being promoted by the home and there is evidence of this in the Looked After Reviews. The home uses a variety of ways to engage young people to ensure that their health needs are met. Staff meet regularly with health professionals and promote healthy lifestyles with the young people. Individual needs are regularly discussed at team meetings to ensure all the staff have an understanding of young people’s needs. Young people continue to be looked after by a team of staff who aim to achieve the best possible outcomes.
