Overall effectiveness of the improvement and outcomes for children
Children are always within sight and hearing of staff so that they are safe and well supported. Risk assessments are carried out and action taken to minimise any potential hazards. Most areas of the premises are kept clean and hygienic, equipment and utensils are cleaned to a high standard. This will be checked to ensure that all areas of the premises are suitably clean at the next monitoring visit. Children are provided with a varied balanced diet to make sure they are fed well and feel comfortable. Staff preparing food have relevant training in food hygiene. Health and hygiene is promoted. Children are beginning to recognise the importance of cleanliness and are encouraged to follow hygiene practices in their care routines. They are supported by staff who promote their independence and ensure they have access to a suitable toilet depending on their ability and level of development. A minimum of two members of staff are on site at all times to keep children safe.

Overall effectiveness of the improvement and outcomes for children
Children's interests inform planning and activities which offer challenge and variety. Staff are skilful as they interact with the children, encouraging them to explore and develop their own ideas, solve problems and think critically. They make sure children of all ages and abilities can take part through appropriate support and guidance. During the visit children were happy and engaged throughout. They used their imaginations as well as their communication and physical skills during role play in the 'Accident and Emergency' role play area. Children of all abilities and ages from one to three years had fun making marks with different implements or to manipulate dough. They were confident to express their ideas or care needs. We will monitor your provision to check that the action taken is maintained and that you can continue demonstrate the capacity to improve.
