    Summary of outcome

On 26 August 2011, the childminder notified us that she was caring for four children under the age of five. We needed to investigate the concern to see whether the provider was meeting the conditions of registration under The Childcare Act 2006 section 38 conditions of registration (5) An early years provider registered under this chapter commits an offence if, without reasonable excuse, he fails to comply with any condition imposed under subsection(1). We discussed this with the provider and considered the information and evidence provided. We found the childminder was failing to meet their conditions of registration as they were caring for more children than their conditions of registration allow. On this occasion Ofsted issued the provider with a warning letter. The childminder remains registered with Ofsted.

    Publication of compliance action

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. The Childcare Act 2006 and accompanying regulations set out our responsibilities to regulate childminders and childcare providers. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

    Publication of compliance action

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years commencing on the date we complete our investigation.
