Summary of outcome
On 3 August 2011, the provider notified us that a child attending the setting had suffered an accident. This notification means that the provider met their legal responsibility as set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage welfare requirements relating to “safeguarding and promoting children's welfare”. In particular, to notify Ofsted of any serious accident. In addition, the information provided by the childminder indicated she was caring for more children in the Early Years range than her registration allows.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We carried out an unannounced visit to the setting and found that the provider had suitable risk assessments in place and had informed the parent of the accident as soon as it happened. This means the provider was meeting the requirements in relation to illnesses and injuries. Whilst the childminder was caring for the appropriate number of children when the unannounced visit took place, she admitted that she had cared for an additional child in the early years range on the day the accident occurred. Therefore, the childminder was failing to meet their conditions of registration as they were caring for more children than their conditions of registration allow. On this occasion Ofsted issued the provider with a warning letter.
p.1
Summary of outcome
The provider remains registered with Ofsted.
