Summary of outcome
On 14 March 2011, we received a notification from the provider that raised concerns about safeguarding. We needed to investigate this concern to see if the setting was meeting the Early Years Foundation Stage welfare requirements relating to 'safeguarding and promoting children's welfare'. In particular these requirements state that an effective safeguarding children policy and procedure must be implemented. This must include the procedure to be followed in the event of an allegation being made against a member of staff. The provider must ensure that all members of staff understand the safeguarding policy and procedure. In addition, all providers must notify any child protection agency (usually local children's services and the police) previously identified by the Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB), without delay, of allegations of abuse as above.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We conducted an investigation and discussed the concerns in full with the childminder. We suspended the childminder’s registration because we believed children may be at risk of harm.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We have now lifted the suspension because the provider took appropriate action to deal with the matter that led to the suspension and we are satisfied that there is now no risk of harm to children as a result of this matter.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We conducted a further visit and it was found that the provider had breached her conditions of registration by providing overnight care to minded children. The provider admitted that she had done this. This is an offence under The Childcare Act 2006. We sent a formal warning letter to the provider regarding the offence informing her that should there be any recurrence, we may consider prosecution on a future occasion.
p.1
Summary of outcome
The provider remains registered with Ofsted.
