progress

The children’s home has failed to address one or more requirements and/or has not met the majority of recommendations and/or the quality of care and outcomes for children and young people have declined since the last full inspection.

p.3

Progress

Since their previous inspection the service is judged to be making satisfactory progress.

p.3

Progress

The home has not provided accommodation to children and young people since its registration on 30th December 2011. This inspection focuses on whether the children’s home meets its statutory requirements in order to maintain its registration and is ready to accept placements.

p.3

Progress

At registration the provider was asked to make some adjustments to the fabric of the premises to ensure that it would provide a safe environment for children to live. Improvements to the security and safety of the premises have met these expectations and additionally made improvements to make the environment more homely such as the addition of a games room and personal desk spaces for completing homework.

p.3

Progress

The considerable attention given by the manager to the administrative and health and safety systems within the home confirms its ability to practice compliantly with all statutory guidance, regulation and best practice. Regular management monitoring systems help to identify and address any shortfalls immediately. Upon admission to the home children will benefit from the attention of an experienced and qualified staff team from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds. Staff support and ongoing induction enables the home to become operational immediately following the assessment and acceptance of a suitable referral.

p.3

Progress

Only children whose care related needs can be effectively addressed, will be accommodated by the home, following a considered assessment of referrals by the manager and staff team. Effective preparation including pre-operational networking with local care, health and educational agencies effectively enhances the provider’s ability to access services that will help improve children’s outcomes while in placement.
