The Winchester Project was registered by Camden Council in 1994 and provides a year round service to children and young people living in the Swiss Cottage area of NW3. During school holidays the 24 place after school club for 5-12 year olds is extended into a 50 place scheme operating from 9.15- 5.45pm. This provision operates alongside a youth service for young people aged over thirteen. During operating hours children have access to a ground floor playroom, first floor gymnasium and two other activity rooms. As part of a major development programme the existing outdoor play space comprising an adventure area and football pitch is scheduled to be significantly reduced in size and redeveloped. A locally elected management committee manages the overall service and delegates responsibility for the day to day running of the scheme to a Senior Play worker.
