p.2
Introduction
This inspection was carried out by Ofsted under Sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of the registered early years provision. ‘Early years provision’ refers to provision regulated by Ofsted for children from birth to 31 August following their fifth birthday (the early years age group). The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children’s learning, development and welfare, known as the Early Years Foundation Stage.
p.3
Introduction
The provider must provide a copy of this report to all parents with children at the setting where reasonably practicable. The provider must provide a copy of the report to any other person who asks for one, but may charge a fee for this service (The Childcare (Inspection) Regulations 2008 regulations 9 and 10).
p.3
Introduction
The setting also makes provision for children older than the early years age group which is registered on the voluntary and/or compulsory part(s) of the Childcare Register. This report does not include an evaluation of that provision, but a comment about compliance with the requirements of the Childcare Register is included in Annex B.
p.3
Introduction
There were no children on roll when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children on roll, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states if the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.

Description of the childminding
The childminder was registered in 2004. She lives with her family in Methley, on the outskirts Leeds. The whole of the ground floor and first floor bathroom are used for childminding purposes. The premises are accessible to people with limited mobility.
p.4
Description of the childminding
The childminder is registered on the Early Years Register, and both the compulsory and voluntary parts of the Childcare Register to care for a maximum of six children under eight years old. The childminder is not currently childminding and has no children on roll.
p.4
The overall effectiveness of the early years provision
The childminder meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. There were no children present during the inspection, and there are currently no children on the childminder's register. The childminder demonstrates through discussion and documentation that she organises her practice appropriately to support children's learning, development and welfare needs. She demonstrates some knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.; is aware of how to encourage progress in learning and development through play and how observations can be used to monitor this. Suitable arrangements are in place to ensure children's health and safety is promoted. The childminder has started to risk assess areas of the home, following an action raised at the last inspection. She has discussed this with other registered providers; to enable her to develop her systems and gain a more secure knowledge of how to maintain a robust record,

therefore ensuring children are cared for in a safe environment. The childminder is aware of the importance of treating each child with equal respect and concern. She appreciates the importance of working in partnership with parents and with other professionals, to promote the welfare and development of each child. The childminder understands her responsibilities with regard to safeguarding children, and has a written policy to support her practice.
