p.1

Type of setting Childminder This inspection was carried out under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006
p.1
Introduction
This inspection was carried out by Ofsted under Sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of the registered early years provision. ‘Early years provision’ refers to provision regulated by Ofsted for children from birth to 31 August following their fifth birthday (the early years age group). The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children’s learning, development and welfare, known as the Early Years Foundation Stage.
p.2
Introduction
The report includes information on any complaints about the childcare provision which Ofsted has received since the last inspection or registration whichever is the later, which require Ofsted or the provider to take action in Annex C.
p.2
Introduction
The provider must provide a copy of this report to all parents with children at the setting where reasonably practicable. The provider must provide a copy of the report to any other person who asks for one, but may charge a fee for this service (The Childcare (Inspection) Regulations 2008 regulations 9 and 10).
p.2
Introduction
The setting also makes provision for children older than the early years age group which is registered on the voluntary and/or compulsory part(s) of the Childcare Register. This report does not include an evaluation of that provision, but a comment about compliance with the requirements of the Childcare Register is included in Annex B.
p.2
Introduction
There were no children on roll when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children on roll, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states if the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration. This inspection was carried out under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006
p.2
Description of the childminding
The childminder was registered in 2007. She lives with her husband and four year old twins in Tidworth, Hampshire. The whole of the home is registered for childminding and there is an enclosed garden for outside play. The premises do not pose any restrictions for persons with disabilities.
p.3
Description of the childminding
The childminder is registered to care for a maximum of four children under eight years old at any one time. She currently has no children on roll. The childminder is able to walk and drive to local schools and pre-schools. She is registered on the Early Years Register and on the voluntary and compulsory parts of the Childcare Register. The family have a dog.
p.3
Overall effectiveness of the early years provision
Through discussion the childminder is able to demonstrate how she is able to meet the requirements for registration. She is suitably qualified having attended both a childcare course and training in first aid. She has appropriate systems in place to safeguard and promote children's welfare. Suitable procedures promote the good health of the children and there are appropriate steps in place to prevent the spread of infection and illness. Appropriate systems are in place to suitably manage children's behaviour and in a manner appropriate for their stage of development and particular individual needs. The childminder ensures that her home, furniture, equipment and toys are safe and suitable for their purpose, although she does not have a record of risk assessment in place for checks undertaken on the home and outings. The childminder plans and organises her provision to ensure that every child receives an enjoyable and challenging learning

and development experience that is tailored to meet their individual needs. Finally, with the exception of a record of risk assessment, she maintains the records, policies and procedures required for the safe and efficient management of the setting and to meet the individual needs of the children. The provider meets all of the requirements for registration.
